I bought this kit at a show a couple of years ago and start to clean some parts, then boxed it and haven't touched it until now because I wasn't sure what to do, or how to display the model. I decided on an old rusty relic possibly in a back lot of a museum, or just an old monument type thing. I also decided to do the tracks and wheels as one to make painting easier....or possibly harder. This is my first time doing wheels and tracks this way so it's an experiment of sorts. here is what I have so far. Just the small parts left to add and then primer time.

I got the model built up and black primer is on. Will slap some base color on today and then the fun part begins..

Time for an update on the Panther. Being an older Dragon kit the build part went quick and the model was ready for primer. Here I decided to use the good old Vallejo black primer. For a base rust I used the new Mig AMMO track rust and varied the tone a bit. Once dry I went old school and used masking fluid to create the base chipping. Next came the base panzer yellow, and again I decided to try out the new AMMO colors. I applied several light coats and made sure to vary the tones and keep it on the light, sun bleached look. With the base color dry I then started the removal of the masking fluid. I will start the chipping and rusting soon using a fine paint brush.

Last update for today. I added stains to the wheels, more coming later. Will let the enamels dry good before I do more. The lower hull needs more chipping before it gets stains and streaks. The rear upper engine deck still needs work as well.

Looks like it's seen better days, and that's a compliment. Cool layered effects you have going on. Great stuff. With acrylics, when you are dragging down rust or rainmark streaks do you use water or thinners?
