Hi All

Well, I thought I just plonk a few pictures on this forum and get some ideas .

I am building a diorama called “”Back to Nature:: i.e. a vehicle abandoned in a wooded area.

the idea original was just a basic model but it went wrong , bits broke lost the idea and paint scheme went wrong , just a disaster so decided to do some thing different to it .

Still got the canvas to repaint and the wood to make more silvery colour and may tone some of the rust down with sand unsure yet .
do want to try and get the green slim look as well on the model .

So what do you think.

I've used MIG's and AK enamel moss and slime washes before and highly rate them. Look forward to seeing what you have planned.

Personally just got to make it look correct and at the moment i not happy with it . thank you for your comment ossie

It's off to a very good start Ossie. I too love the AK and now the AMMO slimy grime colors. Here are a couple of pics to give you some inspiration. I actually started to add some mossy green to the one lower hull side. Will post a pic later.

this is where my idea for the model started along with pictures of abandoned vehicles in forests in google and a vehicle i saw on a tank range , still in tact after 6 years, paint starting to just fade and starting to rust now.

Can see how that one truck in the woods inspired you to do yours similar. I have the hobbyBoss Dana kit that I planned to do abandoned in the woods.

Looks good so far mate! There's lot of wood on this, I would try making the wood look old and silvery as you said. I would try different shades of grey first, some places almost white, then do some heavy very dark washes and streaks for mould, and green. Just some ideas I thought I would share, I hope you don't mind. Good luck with it!

well i been doing some work to my model its been slow coming on but trying to get the green/black stain right as well as showing some rust. i been basing my model on real vehicles. i still got to add some leaves to the gun .
so tonight i been working on the gun mainly so thats what i am showing plus a few little extras. still got a heap of a lot to do yet. i been using vallejo paint and artist pastel chalks like in the pictures i have used these for many years .
