I am having a problem getting the gloss coat down, I end up with some areas that have orange peel. Was told that I need to thin it by 50% which seems strange due to it looks already thin and goes through the airbrush with no problem.
Someone else said add a drop of Lacquer thinner, I just never like to mix brands and items. I do have some Vallejo Model Color Colour 70-597 Drying Retarder Medium 196, maybe a drop of this in the gun?
The gloss is 62.064, I have a bottle of Matt Varnish 62.062 that looks like it will need thinning before going over the finial coat of gloss.
Trying to get the gloss down to hide the decal edge on a military model.
Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Hi James I can't say I have the solution, but I can just throw some suggestions out based on my experience. I always thin vallejos, usually with soapy water to break the surface tension. Or retarder might be a good idea too.
But what I would do is practice the process on a piece of scrap plastic or old model. Just a suggestion but then you will know what works and what doesn't before messing up your model.

Thanks, will try different things. I have no problem with any Vallejo Paint, only the gloss varnish seems to not work for me.
Thanks for the reply
